Established in December 2021 as a 501(c)(3) organization, the Shooting Sports Association's mission is to promote firearm awareness through education and safety while fostering shooting sports for individuals, groups, and organizations. We accomplish this by facilitating fundraising opportunities and awarding grants and scholarships that support our shooting community.

Since hosting our first Banquet & Auction in 2022, we have continued to grow in both participation and impact. Through our fundraising efforts in 2025, we covered our operating expenses and proudly awarded $30,000 in grants to youth programs and organizations across Oklahoma.

We also continued our commitment to youth development by sponsoring two Oklahoma teens for the NRA Whittington Center Adventure Camp Youth Program Scholarships. This top-tier outdoor camp, open to boys and girls ages 13–17, teaches shooting fundamentals, firearm safety, marksmanship, and even wilderness survival skills. Two more scholarships will be offered in 2026,with recipients selected through an online application which opens this fall and drawing taking place in 2026.

Our work is made possible by a dedicated team of volunteers who devote their time and energy year-round, and by the generous donors and supporters who make our mission a reality. Together, we are growing the future of shooting sports in Oklahoma and surrounding areas.
